Alvertis is a Seattle native raised in the Central District with a professional background rooted in accounting, finance, and community-based financial leadership. He earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from Seattle University, which laid the foundation for his early career in auditing for regional and national organizations and his expertise in financial oversight, compliance, and risk management. Over the past 15 years, Alvertis has held senior leadership roles across public and nonprofit institutions, overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets, strengthening internal controls, and aligning financial strategy with mission-driven outcomes. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Rainier Valley Community Development Fund, where he leads organizational strategy, capital deployment, fiscal management, and community investment efforts focused on economic stability and long-term wealth building in historically disinvested communities. Alvertis holds a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Intercollegiate Leadership and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, credentials that strengthen his systems-level approach to governance, organizational leadership, and talent development. He currently serves as a member of the mayoral-elect transition team, advising on priorities related to systems alignment, equity, and community impact. He has previously served on the boards of Seattle United, Giddens School, Aaron Brooks Foundation, and the Africatown Education and Innovation Center, providing governance, financial oversight, and strategic leadership across education, athletics, and community development. A dedicated father and founder of Learn With Us Now (LWUN), Alvertis supports families and organizations in navigating complex institutional systems to build equitable futures.
